How to measure head size for lace wig

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD FOR A WIG

Before you begin measuring your head, make sure your hair is all pinned up and lying flat (with or without a wig cap). Your hair must be prepared the same way you would have it right before applying the wig. This will eliminate bulges that distort head contours. Use a tape measure to measure. Our lace wig size measurements are in inches. Ensure you do not stretch the measuring tape when measuring. Tip: When measuring, place your measuring tape outside of your natural hairline.

Wig Measurements - How to measure your head for lace wigs

How to Measure Your Head For a Wig

Most wig caps are adjustable. By adjusting the elastic straps, you can make the cap tighter or looser.
But if you would like your wig to be made to fit your head, please follow the below instructions. To measure the circumference of your
head for a wig, take the tape measure and place it at the middle of your forehead at the hairline. Then run the tape around the head, behind one ear,
around the nape of the neck, behind the other ear, then back to the front at the hairline.

If your size falls between two cap sizes, going for the larger cap gives you more leeway to alter to a smaller size.

Here are the 3 main measurements to guarantee the right fit:

Head Circumference:
This measures the distance around your head. Starting at the center of the front hairline, place the tape flat against your head,
going just above the ear towards the back of the head, keeping the tape at the nape of your neck and go around to the opposite side of your
head, just above the opposite ear and returning to the center of the front hairline. This is the head circumference measurement.
If you only decide to take one measurement, this is the one you need.

Front to Nape:
This measures the length of your head from the front to the nape of your neck. To determine where the nape of your neck is, tilt your head
back and look up. Where your neck bends and may even develop a skin fold, is where your nape is. You want the bottom of the wig to sit right above this
area so that when you do tilt your head back that far, your wig will not shift on your head. This area is often right at the occipital bone, but be sure to take
the measurement with your neck bent down so that you are looking at your shoes. Starting at the front hairline, measure directly across the middle top of your
head to the area that you have determined is your nape.

Ear to Ear
Measure your head from the top of one ear, over the crown to the top of the other ear. Your wig should settle into your natural hairline.
The back of the wig should come down to the natural hairline (nape) in the back. Our wigs have an adjustable
strap, elastic band which allow you to adjust the circumference of your wig for the best and most comfortable fit.
